The Whangawehi Committee prepares the Opening day
On the 10th of November 2022, the Whangawehi Committee met on Okepuha Station to discuss the Opening day for the walkway. There is plenty to do but the team is looking forward to opening the track on the 8th of December 2022 at 11 am at the Whangawehi bridge. A big thank you to Todd Murphy owner of Tip Trucks Limited who donated several days of digger work for the repair work along the walkway. A big thank you to Todd and Dee for their generosity.
Repair work underway on the Walkway
Todd Murphy our local digger Operator is clearing the track on the Whangawehi walkway. This work will allow our track building company to finish gravelling the track very soon. A big thank you to Todd for doing this work straight after his wedding ! Ground conditions are now dry enough for the work to resume and we hope our track building company will be on site soon to finish the work. We will keep you posted.
