Hi all, despite the damages generated by the recent storms, the Te Aratia walkway is open.

Last week, Southern Star trail delivered some huge mahi to clear the bulk of the slips that have affected the track. Further work will be required with a larger machine when ground conditions are dry.

The WCMG wants to thank the Iwi Trust who have helped with the repair work by funding a an additional small digger.

For now, the track is open, enjoy it, be safe, read the signs and use common sense when using the main crossing near the hut.

A big thank you to our volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make sure the track is open for the festive season.
