The Whangawehi Summer activity programme is well underway with 3 walks already delivered. Support and feedback received so far has been great. This year, thanks to the support of Malcolm Smith (DOC), several walks started at the Mahia Scenic Reserve. A short kilometre of bush bashing allowed the connection with a forestry track and the traditional Whangawehi track. Trampers had the opportunity to check out the new plantings as well as learn more about the restoration programme, water and fish monitoring and vibrant local history.

This weeks walks will follow the traditional Whangawehi walkway.
